Uniting in prayer for the persecuted church, in the spirit of oneness that Christ commanded:
‘For, if one suffers, we all suffer.’ (1 Corinthians 12:26)
All over the world Christians are being attacked or murdered for their faith. If you’re online for any amount of time, you can’t help seeing and reading about this. Christian churches are being denied the freedom to worship and many of these churches are being destroyed.
According to OpenDoorsUSA.org, many authoritarian governments seek to control all forms of religious thought and expression, as well as the political and civic lives of their people.
“These governments regard some religious groups as enemies of the state because they hold religious beliefs that may challenge loyalty to the rulers.”
On November 1, one of two days set aside as an International Day of Prayer (IDOP) for the Persecuted Church, Christians all over the world joined together to pray for all who are being persecuted and killed for their faith in Jesus Christ. This coming Sunday, November 8, is the second IDOP, where we can once again pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are being attacked for their Christian beliefs.
Please take the time to watch this video as you prepare to pray for these precious fellow believers who are being imprisoned, tortured, and murdered.
Let’s not forget to also pray for those who are committing these atrocities, that their hearts will be so touched by the strong faith of these Christians that they come to accept the salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ themselves.
