What a blessing to be an online missionary! But there are caveats that go along with this, and one that is the most crucial is to be a person of integrity which has the meaning of without fault, just and righteous. As you post and talk with your disciple or mission contact your conduct, words and yes—even your actions reveal your integrity or lack thereof. Remember that the majority of those coming to you are still living and moving in this dark world. They are faced with those whose lifestyle is that of crookedness, evil and wickedness. You are the LIGHT out of that darkness and you reveal that contrast by conducting yourself with integrity or righteousness. You learn integrity by studying the character of God who is the fullest picture of this attribute.

God is “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, and abounding in loyal love and faithfulness,” As a missionary you are to be the example of those character qualities as well. You do it as you choose to obey God and take great delight in keeping his commands. In Psalm 112 the writer remarks that “his integrity endures.” Not only does it endure but the qualities of mercy, compassion and his just behavior will be passed on to the next generation.  You give honor to God as you live it out in your online conversations. You do it in your daily moment by moment interactions in word and deed.

If you want to be seen, heard and viewed as a person of integrity, start by studying the character of God. Hunger and thirst for this quality and you will be satisfied. Be a person of integrity today as you interact with others.

“let your light shine before people, so that they can see (we might add view or hear about) your good deeds and give honor to your Father in heaven.” [Mat 5:16]

About Gaye Austin

When not writing for the Bible.org ministry Facebook page, Gaye Austin can be found working on her own web page, titled http://sonshinesjournal.com/ As a lover of snail mail you might find her thanking the donors of the Bible.org ministry where she works as a full-time volunteer. You might find her reading and on the alert for good writers for the children’s ministry blog; Heartprints. Life has taken Gaye on many adventures of faith from NY to GA, Maryland, Fl and now to Texas. Along the way, she has found discipling other women rewarding. In Texas, she and her husband enjoy time with their son, daughter-in-law and cheering on their aspiring musical theater granddaughter; a senior at Baylor University. Gaye has been active in many churches Sunday School programs, Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) and teaching Precept Ministries classes. It was through these she learned how to study the Bible and started writing curriculum and Sunday School lessons for her husband’s class. Along with this she also taught elementary school. Now, when not glued to the computer screen, she enjoys gardening and reading. Because her life has had many twists and turns she recently rewrote her testimony titled “Protected” after seeing how God has directed and protected her through the many years she has walked with Him.
