This morning, my Facebook newsfeed was filled with such cheery articles such as how church is failing and what we can do better as a church, that I was immediately inspired to want to come to church.

Okay, maybe that was a touch of sarcasm.

Here’s my problem with your articles.

This church bashing has been going on for years. Your articles along with other articles bashing church are making a lot of noise. It’s all about public perception nowadays, and I have to ask you:

How is this helping people know the good news of the Gospel?

How is this inspiring people to get involved in their local church?

I don’t know of any perfect churches who do things right all the time. They don’t exist. If we keep harping on what we’re doing wrong on social media, we do an injustice to what the church is doing right. Church is relevant. We may not like church sometimes, like we may not like our families all the time, but our heart should still love her and want her to succeed at reaching the lost in our communities.

So I ask you:

How can you use your incredible influence to inspire people to bring their friends to church, to be sent into the mission field, or to reach the lost in their communities?
